About
Lena leads the program design and learning for the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative’s flagship program which equips mayors and senior city leaders from around the world with the skills and tools to strengthen leadership, build capacity, and drive impact for residents.
Before joining the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership, Lena led large-scale public-sector transformation projects, primarily in education. With a background in strategy consulting, she worked for the UK Department for Education, shaping the regulatory environment around vocational and technical qualifications (VTQs) and helped establish the National Institute for Teaching, a new higher education institution for teacher education and development in England. She was part of the founding team of BCG’s Centre for Public Impact, shaping the organization’s mission and leading the European team.
Lena holds master’s degrees from the Universities of Cambridge and St Andrews, UK where she was a scholar of the German National Academic Foundation. In her free time, she enjoys running, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with her family and children.
